Isohelix Microbiome Collection and Stabilisation for both Oral and Gut Microbiome DNA

The Isohelix range of microbiome DNA collection kits provides an easy to use and efficient alternative to traditional methods previously used in microbiome studies.

The is an easy to use oral microbiome DNA collection kit that has been optimised for the collection of oral microbiome samples using saliva.

Whereas traditional methods of collection and storage of microbiome samples include freezing, which often presents challenges in cold chain transport and storage or can complicate technical viability in the collection process, our MFX-01 collectors can be transported and stored at room temperature whilst still stabilising DNA for up to 12 months.

Isohelix DNA/RNA Swabs Certified To NEW EU Regulations

Isohelix is pleased to announce it has formally completed the EU Certificate of Registration for the medical devices range of  ‘Isohelix DNA/RNA Swab Buccal Swabs’  under the new EU regulations 2017/745 in Europe that will become law in 2021.

The Isohelix DNA/RNA GeneFix saliva and buccal collection and isolation chemistries are now fully integrated into the Autogen FlexSTAR DNA automation systems, aiding the processing of larger samples volumes without detriment to high purity and yields of gDNA.

Isohelix has launched a novel kit for the rapid preparation of PCR-Ready DNA from GeneFix and BuccalFix stabilised samples.

The Salivalyse novel chemistry removes potent inhibitors quickly and efficiently, from varying sample volumes and used directly in PCR and qPCR.

With less time spent on sample preparation, further optimises  PCR and qPCR  work flows.

The GeneFiX™ Saliva DNA collectors are trusted worldwide to provide high yields of quality DNA, but if you need even more DNA, we have introduced The ‘Xtra DNA Collect’ – designed to collect 3ml of Saliva thus improving yields over the standard GeneFiX™ and 1ml and 2 ml collectors. Our high performance buffer has been concentrated to allow collection of 3ml saliva samples into just 1ml of buffer, increasing yield by up to 50% for all your tricky donors or for further downstream testing

StoolFiX™ is designed to be used in combination with well published Isohelix swabs for the easy collection and  stabilization of microbial DNA from fecal samples. The kit requires minimal sample handling, and uses a  non-toxic stabilization buffer creating an easy to use collection device that can be used within the laboratory or at remote patient collection sites.

The StoolFiX™ tube is fully transport tested, and eliminates cold chain shipping by stabilizing DNA for one month at room temperature for high yields of intact DNA.
